Winter Wonderland Cookie Class with Jay Qualls, 10/17 from 6:00-8:00p

Sugar Drop is excited to host celebrity cake baker Jay Qualls for an evening Winter Wonderland cookie class on Tuesday, October 17th from 6:00-8:00p. During this two hour event, students will receive recipes and instructions for creating the perfect royal icing decorated cookie. Jay will provide techniques including icing consistency, outlining, flooding, wet-on-wet, marbling and much more. 

All supplies are included in this class and students will leave with a box of 6 decorated cookies. 

Class is limited to 10 guests. Reservations required. No refunds will be offered due to the high demand of the class.

Jay Qualls, Celebrity Wedding Cake Designer

Jay decorated his first cake on April 25th, 1992 for his daughter’s first birthday party and fell in love with cake decorating from that day. His passion for delicious and beautiful cakes grew into a full time successful company known as Maples Wedding Cakes and he most recently opening A Frosted Affair, A Jay Qualls Boutique Cakery in Nashville, TN and inventor of Fondant Fabric™.

After graduating in 2003 from Middle Tennessee State University with his B.S. in Organizational Communication, Jay decided to put it to good use and open a high end wedding cake boutique Jay quickly turned Maples Wedding cakes into a leader in custom designed wedding cakes. He believes cakes should be beautiful and

delicious. He has studied and worked alongside of the greatest sugar artists in the industry. He continues to be one of the leaders in the cake industry with his unique since of style of cake design, teaching, product development, speaking, business development and consulting.

He has designed wedding cakes and special occasion cakes for country music celebrity artists like Martina McBride, Jo Dee Massina, Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, Hillary Scott-Lady Antebellum and Patrick Carney from the Black Keys, Tyler Hubbard, Tiffany Fallon, Nicole Clawson, Hannah Curley, Reba McEntire, and Faith Hill just to name a few.He was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings in the winter 15th Anniversary issue. Less than 10 designers have been invited to collaborate with Martha Stewart Weddings in the history of the magazine.
